One of the best ways to add character and style to your own is by unique decorative pieces. Over the past few years, the DIY home decor industry has completely flourished. So many people are getting their hands dirty with DIY home decor projects and coming up with some of the coolest, unique pieces for their homes!
Honestly, I love a good DIY home decor project. I love to refurbish furniture, painting wooden chairs, or reupholstering seat cushions. Also, I recently got a Cricut machine, and have totally unlocked the key to the possibility of endless crafts with it! I love handmade things in my home, it makes me feel proud and excited to display the works of art.
I wanted to put together a post for those who maybe aren’t so skilled or have ALL the crazy equipment. Here are a few DIY projects that are easy and simple and pretty much anything can do (with their eyes closed…jk).

1. DIY Entryway Bench

2. DIY Blanket Ladder

*PRO TIP! If you don’t have a saw, you can get all of the pieces cut at Home Depot at no cost! Just make sure you have know which measurements you need!
3. DIY Rustic Shelves

I am literally OBSESED with these Rustic Shelves. These might be my favorite DIY home decor project on this post! They are SO incredibly easy and simple to make and are so stinkin cute. I love how they have the edge to prevent frames and stuff from slipping off the shelf. I’m going to make these for our office and master bedroom! We have so many frames and trinkets, but not enough surfaces to put them all. So this is the perfect solution!

4. DIY Scrap Wood Outdoor Planter

These planters are seriously SO adorable! They would look so cute on a patio or on the front porch near the front door! They seem super easy to make and not very expensive either. Say goodbye to boring planters, and try making this awesome wood planter to enhance those beautiful flowers and greens!

5. DIY Tiered Tray

This Three Tiered Tray is a super easy DIY home decor idea. I personally love it in the distressed matte white color (you can get the distressed look by using sandpaper on the edges after painting it). I love to style tiered trays. It’s always fun to rotate the decor with the seasons as well. This DIY project would make a great gift as well!
